Panipat: Sahil Salathia Says Ranveer Singh And Deepika Padukone Are His Parents And That Too Good Ones

Sahil Salathia who plays Shamsher Bahadur – the son of Peshwa Bajirao and Mastani Bai in Panipat talks about his reel life parents Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Says they are good parents.

Bajirao Mastani is a film that has been etched in everyone’s mind. From Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s sizzling chemistry to the regal costumes to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s extravaganza sets, everything about Bajirao Mastani holds a special place in people’s heart. Though it’s been four years since it was released, the connection of the film will be seen in the upcoming film, Panipat. In Ashutosh Gowariker’s film, we will be seeing a character name Shamsher Bahadur who was the son of Peshwa Bajirao and Mastani Bai. The character will be played by Sahil Salathia who was last seen in a TV show, Everest.
 
Talking about his character, he revealed his contribution to the battle of Panipat. Sahil was quoted by the tabloid, saying, “He was the son of Bajirao and Mastani and is well etched in people’s mind, but in our film, you will see his contribution to the third battle of Panipat.” 


When asked about playing the son of Ranveer and Deepika who played Bajirao and Mastani in the 2015 film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, he said they are definitely good parents to have. He was quoted, saying, “It’s a different filmmaker, a different vision, but they are definitely good parents to have, being exceptionally talented and stunning. So, it’s flattering.” 


Speaking more about his character, other than being a son to Bajirao and Mastani, Sahil Salathia as Shamsher Bahadur is also the cousin of Sadashiv Rao Bhau which is played by Arjun Kapoor. The film also stars Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai who plays the second wife of Sadashiv, Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali (the antagonist), Monish Bahl as Nana Saheb Peshwa, Padmini Kolhapure as Gopika Bai will be seen in key roles. 




Panipat is scheduled to hit the big screens on December 6, 2019.
